Do you want to build with native oak lumber grown in Pennsylvania's crown jewel, Pine Creek Valley? English Mountain Sawmill is serving Pine Creek Valley and the surrounding area.

Located on the slope of English Mountain in Cammal, English Mountain Sawmill is currently logging and sawing our own second-growth native oak timber that has grown over the past 120 years right here on English Mountain, into the following building products:

•Oak stakes 2-6 feet long, posts and beams from 4 feet to 20 feet long and from 4x4 inches to 9x9 inches diameter

•Oak fireplace mantles 4-6 feet long and 6x6 inches to 12x12 inches diameter

•Oak boards of varying widths, thicknesses, and lengths to suit

•Naturally rot-resistant White Oak posts and decking for outdoor decks, steps, and trailers (sailing ships were made of white oak until the 1880s). This is Quercus Alba, true white oak. Chestnut oak is good, too, and we have that also.

•Species available are white, black, red, scarlet, and chestnut oak

About English Mountain Sawmill

♦Prices vary by product and season; low grade lumber is cheap, high grade costs more. Beams 6x6 inches and 8 feet long are cheaper than you would expect, and prices increase with length and thickness

♦All products are custom sawn to order and can usually be completed within 1-3 weeks

♦All orders require some down payment

♦All products are green and will require varying amounts of time to dry, depending upon thickness. Keep fresh cut lumber on stickers and out of sun and wind. Stickers are included with your order.

♦EMS sells all its products new to order, and therefore we do not carry much of an inventory to pick through, though we do occasionally saw thick live-edge boards suitable for making benches and tables

♦EMS can deliver to most of the surrounding area for a fee, or you can pick up when your order is completed

♦Generally speaking white oak and chestnut oak can be used both indoors and outdoors, while red, black, and scarlet oak are for indoor uses only, or at least kept under roof and not exposed to wet conditions

♦EMS can custom cut logs that are brought to us with notice ahead of time; prices are hourly and depend on log size, product size, and species. Our saw cannot travel because we have lots of sawing to do here at home.
